Brain Burn Out

Well, I hope you all have had a good summer and are ready to go back to school and apply all the brain based learning techniques we've learned from Cindy. Myself on the other hand can barely think! I'm going to run away to vacation as soon as school gets started and settled in. I did hold a training with the secretaries in our county this week and shared some of the information we discussed in class regarding the brain. It actually went over very well.

This is the first time I've ever used a blog - hope this works.

One Thing

What is one thing (the first thing) you're going to try to make your classroom more brain friendly in the fall? My first thing, when I first started, was getting water bottles for all the kids.

Finally Arrived

This is my first time to join a BLOG! But I thought I needed to get out of my comfort zone, engage my brain, and learn something new. I feel so very comfortable with all of you that if I mess this up I won't feel humiliation!

I just wanted to thank Cindy for such an excellent class and all of you for making the week so much fun! Teachers Are the Best!!
I don't think I posted this correctly the first time. I added it to another conversation by accident. Hope this is correct this time.

Okay, did anyone have a light bulb go on at about 6:00am on Saturday morning? I did and now my brain cannot stop! I am dreaming heads together structures relentlessly. UGH! I think I have the first week and a half of school sorted out now. Anyone with any thoughts on this: Since I do not know any of my students really this year, I plan to put them in teams to do stations while I test for placements. Then get started on the reading and math programs a couple of weeks into the year. Logical or no?Thanks for any input.

An idea for use of this blog

I think this blog would be great to share our experiences with brain based teaching as the year goes along. We can share what went well and what didn't go well. We can also share ideas and support each other throughout the year.
