What is one thing (the first thing) you're going to try to make your classroom more brain friendly in the fall? My first thing, when I first started, was getting water bottles for all the kids.
I think my first activity is going to involve team building, math, writing and art. I am going to have my second graders write how many people are in their immediate families,who they are:ie. mom, dad, older or younger siblings. They will then share with their shoulder partner and then each will take turns sharing with their face partners. Then, as a team, they will graph their results. As a class, we will graph the results and answer questions about our findings. Then, I will use each student's original list to cut out shape albums on my Cricut for them to decorate and write about each person. For those of you who do not know what a Cricut is, check it out on Cricut.com. I will be worth your time. They have a teacher's blog section under their community tab. So, what do you think?
